Questions

Airport Taxi Reading FAQs

Which airports can I get a taxi to from Reading?

Reading Taxis runs airport transfers from Reading to Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and Stansted, each with its own route page above, and takes London City bookings on request. We also pick up from the villages around Reading, including Tilehurst, Winnersh, Pangbourne and Tadley. For any other airport, call 0118 430 0018 and we will confirm.

How long does a taxi from Reading to the airport take?

With Reading Taxis, expect about 30 to 50 minutes to Heathrow, 60 to 90 minutes to Gatwick, 60 to 75 minutes to Luton and 90 to 120 minutes to Stansted in typical traffic. Gatwick, Luton and Stansted all depend on the M25, so build in extra time for early flights and Friday or bank holiday departures.

How much is a taxi from Reading to Heathrow?

A Reading Taxis airport transfer from Reading to Heathrow starts from £65. Gatwick, Luton and Stansted are much longer runs, so we give you a quote for those instead of printing a figure here. Call 0118 430 0018 or use the form on our Book Now page with your pick-up address, passenger numbers and luggage.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Reading Taxis tracks your flight, so a late landing does not mean a missed pick-up. Give us your flight number when you book and we follow the arrival time for you. Because waiting time depends on the journey, ask about it when you book and we will explain it before you confirm.

Do I have to pay Heathrow’s drop-off charge?

Heathrow charges £7 each time a vehicle enters a terminal drop-off area, and taxis and private hire vehicles are not exempt, according to Heathrow’s own Terminal Drop-Off Charge page. Reading Taxis can tell you when you book how this appears on your quote. Free drop-off is available at Heathrow’s Park & Ride car parks, with a free bus to the terminal.

Heathrow’s charge is set by the airport: see Heathrow’s Terminal Drop-Off Charge page for the current figure.
